Bob Toneff (Robert Toneff) was born on June 23, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Barberton (OH), Toneff attended the University of Notre Dame. Toneff made his professional debut in the NFL in 1952 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 12 year career.
Most people believe that 1958 was Bob Toneff's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
