Bob Thurbon (Robert W. Thurbon) was born on February 22, 1918 in Erie, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Acaedmy (Erie, PA), Thurbon attended the University of Pittsburgh. Thurbon made his professional debut in the NFL in 1943 with the Philadelphia/Pittsburgh. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the chicago/pittsburgh and Philadelphia/Pittsburgh over the course of his 2 year NFL career.Thurbon also played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Buffalo Bisons the entire time.
