Born on January 4, 1877 in Akron, Ohio, Bob Spade (Robert Spade) played for the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 4 year career. Spade broke into the bigs on September 22, 1907 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 2.74 ERA in 249.1 innings pitched in 1908, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Bob Spade's best season was 1908, when he posted a 2.74 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 74 batters.
