Born on June 29, 1933 in Bronx, New York, Bob Shaw (Robert John Shaw) played for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Athletics, Milwaukee Braves, San Francisco Giants, New York Mets and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 11 year career. Shaw broke into the bigs on August 11, 1957 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.76 ERA in 90.2 innings pitched in 1958, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Shaw's best season was 1965, when he posted a 2.64 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 148 batters.
