Bob Scheffing (Robert Boden Scheffing) was born on August 11, 1913 in Overland, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 27, 1941 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1941, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 1 home run and 20 RBI. Scheffing played for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Bob Scheffing's best season was 1947, when he knocked in 50 runs.
