Born on December 1, 1921 in Manchester, New Hampshire, Bob Savage (John Robert Savage) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 5 year career. Savage broke into the bigs on June 24, 1942 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 4.06 ERA in 164 innings pitched in 1946, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Savage's best season was 1947, when he posted a 3.76 ERA and struck out 56 batters.
