Bob O'Neil (Robert Maioli O'Neil) was born on February 21, 1931. After going to high school at Bridgeville (PA), O'Neil attended Duquesne University and the University of Notre Dame. O'Neil made his professional debut in the NFL in 1956 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the entire time. O'Neil also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the New York Titans the entire time.

Most people believe that 1956 was Bob O'Neil's best year.
