Bob Nussbaumer (Robert John Nussbaumer) was born on April 23, 1924 in Oak Park, Illinois. After going to high school at Oak Park (IL), Nussbaumer attended the University of Michigan. Nussbaumer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Chicago Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Bob Nussbaumer's best year, as he hauled in 47 receptions, had 597 receiving yards and caught 4 TD passes.
