Bob Nieman (Robert Charles Nieman) was born on January 26, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1951 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .289 with 18 home runs and 74 RBI. Nieman played for the St. Louis Browns, Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Bob Nieman's best season was 1953, when he slugged 15 home runs, hit for a .281 average and knocked in 69 runs.
