Born on January 28, 1916 in Madill, Oklahoma, Bob Muncrief (Robert Cleveland Muncrief) played for the St. Louis Browns, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees over the course of his 12 year career. Muncrief broke into the bigs on September 30, 1937 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 3.65 ERA in 214.1 innings pitched in 1941, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Muncrief's best season was 1944, when he posted a 3.08 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 88 batters.
