Born on October 9, 1947 in Export, Pennsylvania, Bob Moose (Robert Ralph Moose) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 10 year career. Moose broke into the bigs on September 19, 1967 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 2.73 ERA in 171.1 innings pitched in 1968, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Moose's best season was 1969, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 165 batters. He also pitched a no-hitter in Shea Stadium against the eventual World Series Champions of that year the New York Mets on September 20.
