Born on April 29, 1952 in Oakland, California, Bob McClure (Robert Craig McClure) played for the Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Montreal Expos, New York Mets, California Angels, St. Louis Cardinals and Florida Marlins over the course of his 19 year career. McClure broke into the bigs on August 13, 1975 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 2.52 ERA in 71.1 innings pitched in 1977, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bob McClure's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1982, when he posted a 4.22 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 99 batters. However, others believe that it was 1989, when he posted a 1.55 ERA.
