Bob Masterson (Robert Patrick Masterson) was born on January 5, 1915 in North Branch, New Jersey. After going to high school at Roselle (NJ), Masterson attended the University of Miami. Masterson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Washington Redskins. He played in the NFL for 8 years, playing for the Washington Redskins, Brooklyn Tigers and Boston Yanks over the course of his 8 year NFL career.Masterson also played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the New York Yankees the entire time.

Most people believe that 1940 was Bob Masterson's best year, as he caught 4 TD passes.
