Bob Layden (Robert Layden) was born on January 21, 1920 in , KS. After going to high school at Frontenac (KS), Layden attended Cowley County CC and Southwestern College (Kansas). Layden made his professional debut in the NFL in 1943 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
