Born on June 4, 1908 in Allenton, Missouri, Bob Klinger (Robert Harold Klinger) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 8 year career. Klinger broke into the bigs on April 19, 1938 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 2.99 ERA in 159.1 innings pitched in 1938, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Klinger's best season was 1938, when he posted a 2.99 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 58 batters.
