Born on August 18, 1935 in Covington, Virginia, Bob Humphreys (Robert William Humphreys) played for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Washington Senators and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 9 year career. Humphreys broke into the bigs on September 8, 1962 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 3.15 ERA in 65.2 innings pitched in 1965, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Humphreys's best season was 1966, when he posted a 2.82 ERA and struck out 88 batters.
