Born on April 30, 1939 in Macon, Georgia, Bob Hendley (Charles Robert Hendley) played for the Milwaukee Braves, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and New York Mets over the course of his 7 year career. Hendley broke into the bigs on June 23, 1961 with the Milwaukee Braves, and put up a 3.90 ERA in 97 innings pitched in 1961, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Hendley's best season was 1962, when he posted a 3.60 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 112 batters.
