Bob Hantla (Robert Dean Hantla) was born on October 3, 1931 in St. John, Kansas. After going to high school at Meade (KS), Hantla attended the University of Kansas. Hantla made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers for his entire 2 year career.
