[edit] Biography

Born on April 24, 1873 in New Hampshire, Ohio, Bob Ewing (George Lemuel Ewing) played for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 11 year career. Ewing broke into the bigs on April 19, 1902 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 2.98 ERA in 117.2 innings pitched in 1902, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bob Ewing's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1905, when he posted a 2.51 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 164 batters. However, others believe that it was 1907, when he posted a 1.73 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 147 batters.
