Bob Dougherty (Robert William Dougherty) was born on April 20, 1932 in Bellevue, Kentucky. After going to high school at Bellevue (KY), Dougherty attended the University of Cincinnati and the University of Kentucky. Dougherty made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 2 year NFL career.Dougherty also played in the AFL for 4 years, playing for the Oakland Raiders the entire time.

Most people believe that 1961 was Bob Dougherty's best year.
