Born on May 6, 1921 in Oakland, California, Bob Chesnes (Robert Vincent Chesnes) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 3 year career. Chesnes broke into the bigs on May 6, 1948 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.57 ERA in 194.1 innings pitched in 1948, his rookie year.
