Born on October 16, 1924 in Longford, Kansas, Bob Cain (Robert Max Cain) played for the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 5 year career. Cain broke into the bigs on September 18, 1949 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.93 ERA in 171.2 innings pitched in 1950, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Bob Cain's best season was 1952, when he posted a 4.13 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 70 batters.
