Bob Boone (Robert Raymond Boone) was born on November 19, 1947 in San Diego, California. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1972 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1973, his rookie year, he hit .261 with 10 home runs and 61 RBI. Boone played for the Philadelphia Phillies, California Angels and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 19 year career.

Most people believe that Bob Boone's best season was 1977, when he hit for a .284 average and knocked in 66 runs.
