Bob Bescher (Robert Henry Bescher) was born on February 25, 1884 in London, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 5, 1908 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1909, his rookie year, he hit .240 with 1 home run and 34 RBI. Bescher played for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Bob Bescher's best season was 1911, when he stole 80 bases and hit for a .275 average.
