Bob Bell (Robert Francis Bell) was born on January 25, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Bordenton (NJ) Military Institute and West (Philadelphia, PA), Bell attended the University of Cincinnati. Bell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Lions over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1971 was Bob Bell's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
