Bob Beattie (Robert Wetherson Beattie) was born on October 16, 1902 in New York, New York. After going to high school at Manual Training (Brooklyn, NY), Beattie attended Princeton University. Beattie made his professional debut in the AFLG in 1926 with the Philadelphia Quakers. He played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Philadelphia Quakers the entire time. Beattie also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Newark Tornadoes, Orange Tornadoes and New York Yankees over the course of his 3 year NFL career.
