Born on August 3, 1973 in McComb, Mississippi, Blake Stein (William Blake Stein) played for the Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 5 year career. Stein broke into the bigs on May 10, 1998 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 6.37 ERA in 117.1 innings pitched in 1998, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Blake Stein's best season was 2001, when he posted a 4.74 ERA and struck out 113 batters.
