Bjorn Haneveer
[edit] BiographyBjorn Haneveer, born September 4, 1976, is a Belgian snooker player. Haneveer became Belgian Under 16 Champion in 1992, and from there his talent became obvious. He became the first Belgian to make a 147 in 1996, and by 1998 had won the Belgian National Championship twice. In 1997 and 1999 he was almost crowned IBSF World Champion, losing in finals on both occasions. After become European and Belgian Champion in 2001, Haneveer became a professional for the first time. He became the first Belgian to qualify for the World Snooker Championship in 2004, but he lost in the First Round. Haneveer lost his place on the tour in 2006, and became an amateur once again, but despite this setback he still managed a creditable fourth at the 2007 European Championship, just missing out on a return to the tour. He has been good for snooker in Belgium however, as a new wave of talent is beginning to come through in the amateur game.
