Billy Wells (William Prescott Wells) was born on December 7, 1931 in Menominee, Wisconsin. After going to high school at Menominee (WI) and Philip Exeter Academy (NH), Wells attended Michigan State University. Wells made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the Washington Redskins. He played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 4 year NFL career.Wells also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Boston Patriots the entire time.
Most people believe that 1954 was Billy Wells's best year, as he ran for 516 yards.
