Billy Stone (William John Stone) was born on October 25, 1925 in Peoria, Illinois. After going to high school at Feitshans (Springfield, IL), Stone attended Bradley University. Stone made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the Baltimore Colts. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Baltimore Colts the entire time. Stone also played in the NFL for 5 years, playing for the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 5 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1949 was Billy Stone's best year, as he had 621 receiving yards and caught 6 TD passes.
