Billy Ripken (William Oliver Ripken) was born on December 16, 1964 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He made his Major League debut on July 11, 1987 for the Baltimore Orioles. In 1987, his rookie year, he hit .308 with 2 home runs and 20 RBI. Ripken played for the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Ripken's best season was 1990, when he hit for a .291 average.
