Billy Murphy (William Eugene Murphy) was born on May 7, 1944 in Pineville, Louisiana. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1966 for the New York Mets. In 1966, his rookie year, he hit .230 with 3 home runs and 13 RBI. Murphy played for the New York Mets for his entire 1 year career.
