Billy Martin (Alfred Manuel Martin) was born on May 16, 1928 in Berkeley, California. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1950 for the New York Yankees. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 3 home runs and 33 RBI. Martin played for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Martin's best season was 1953, when he slugged 15 home runs and knocked in 75 runs.
