Billy Klaus (William Joseph Klaus) was born on December 9, 1928 in Spring Grove, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1952 for the Boston Braves. In 1955, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 7 home runs and 60 RBI. Klaus played for the Boston Braves, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Senators and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 10 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Billy Klaus's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1956, when he knocked in 59 runs. However, others believe that it was 1955, when he hit for a .283 average and knocked in 60 runs.
