Billy Jurges (William Frederick Jurges) was born on May 9, 1908 in Bronx, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 4, 1931 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .201 with 0 home runs and 23 RBI. Jurges played for the Chicago Cubs and New York Giants over the course of his 17 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Jurges's best season was 1939, when he hit for a .285 average and knocked in 63 runs.
