Billy Johnson (William Russell Johnson) was born on August 30, 1918 in Montclair, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on April 22, 1943 for the New York Yankees. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .280 with 5 home runs and 94 RBI. Johnson played for the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Johnson's best season was 1943, when he hit for a .280 average and knocked in 94 runs.
