Billy Hillenbrand (William Frank Hillenbrand) was born on March 29, 1922 in Armstrong, Indiana. After going to high school at Memorial (Evansville, IN), Hillenbrand attended Indiana University. Hillenbrand made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the Chicago Rockets. He played for the Baltimore Colts and Chicago Rockets over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1948 was Billy Hillenbrand's best year, as he ran for 510 yards, ran in 7 TDs, hauled in 50 receptions, had 970 receiving yards and caught 6 TD passes.
