Billy Grimes (William Joseph Grimes) was born on July 27, 1927 in County Line, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Comanche (OK), Grimes attended Oklahoma State University. Grimes made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the Los Angeles Dons. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Dons the entire time. Grimes also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Green Bay Packers the entire time.
Most people believe that 1950 was Billy Grimes's best year, as he ran in 5 TDs, had 555 punt return yards, ran back 2 punts for touchdowns and had 600 kick return yards.
