Billy Goodman (William Dale Goodman) was born on March 22, 1926 in Concord, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1947 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1948, his rookie year, he hit .310 with 1 home run and 66 RBI. Goodman played for the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox and Houston Colt .45s over the course of his 16 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Goodman's best season was 1955, when he hit for a .294 average and knocked in 52 runs.
