Billy Gay (William Theodore Gay) was born on November 12, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Tilden Tech (Chicago, IL), Gay attended the University of Notre Dame. Gay made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.
