Billy Cox (John William Cox) was born on May 9, 1929 in Mount Airy, North Carolina. After going to high school at Mount Airy (NC), Cox attended Duke University. Cox made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1952 was Billy Cox's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
