Billy Cowan (Billy Rolland Cowan) was born on August 28, 1938 in Calhoun City, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 1963 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1964, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 19 home runs and 50 RBI. Cowan played for the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Milwaukee Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees and California Angels over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Cowan's best season was 1964, when he slugged 19 home runs and knocked in 50 runs.
