Billy Clingman (William Frederick Clingman) was born on November 21, 1869 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 1890 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1895, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 0 home runs and 45 RBI. Clingman played for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Porkers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Louisville Colonels, Chicago Orphans, Washington Senators and Cleveland Naps over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Clingman's best season was 1898, when he knocked in 50 runs.
