Bills and Patriots ready for Sunday night showdown

by Oh No Romo

The Buffalo Bills have a chance to play spoiler and end the New England Patriots season this Sunday night.

The Patriots (9-0) and the Bills (5-4) are first and second in the AFC East. The two previously battled in week three, when the Patriots blew out the Bills, 38-7. In that game, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes, including two to wide receiver Randy Moss.

It was the Bills third straight loss and they started the season 0-3. The last time the Bills started the regular season 0-3, it was in 2004. The Bills would pick it up and finish the regular season 9-7, just missing out on the playoffs.

Since the loss to the Patriots, the Bills have won five of six. They’re only loss was to the Dallas Cowboys, 25-24, on Monday night in week five.

No Lynch?

Bills rookie running back Marshawn Lynch is not expected to play on Sunday night after spraining his ankle in the fourth quarter against the Miami Dolphins.

Lynch did not practice on Wednesday.

The rookie from California has had an excellent season so far, running for 751 yards and six touchdowns.

How much will the Patriots win by?

In eight of their first nine games this season, the Patriots have put up at least 30 points per game. In week nine against the Indianapolis Colts, the Patriots put up their lowest scoring effort of the season, only 24 points in the victory.

The Patriots were down by 10 going into the fourth quarter and they scored two touchdowns to get them past the Colts.

The Patriots are the top scoring offense in the NFL, with 355 points. The other 31 teams don’t even come within 100 points of the Patriots.

The Bills aren’t even within 200; they’ve scored a total of 143 points this season.

There’s no telling what Sunday night will bring for both teams. Either way, one team’s winning streak will be snapped come the next day.

I think if Lynch doesn't play, it's already over. The Pats weakness is Run Defense, and if the Bills don't have Lynch, it won't matter.

That is a FANTASTIC picture. BTW, the weak run defense is more due to Joseph Addai being an absolute MAN that could not be stopped. I'm convinced he is the 2nd best back in the NFL, behind Peterson. Pats have the league's 6th best defense against the run.

granted, I guess it's a weakness, if one really exists.

This is a different Buffalo team than the one the Pats saw earlier. It's gonna be a closer game this time.

SO many people are proclaiming that the Bills are going to give the Pats tough game, and I frankly can't understand why. Buffalo is starting JP losman at QB, whether he plays or not, Lynch is banged up, and from what I can gather, the Patriots will be present for the game. If the Bills keep it within 24 points, they should consider it a victory.

Dick Jauron should piss off Belichick by wearing a sleaveless Buffalo Bills hoody on the sidelines.
