Born on March 26, 1913 in Middle Amana, Iowa, Bill Zuber (William Henry Zuber) played for the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 11 year career. Zuber broke into the bigs on September 16, 1936 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 5.42 ERA in 96.1 innings pitched in 1941, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Zuber's best season was 1942, when he posted a 3.84 ERA and struck out 64 batters.
