Bill Wambsganss (William Adolph Wambsganss) was born on March 19, 1894 in Cleveland, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on August 4, 1914 for the Cleveland Naps. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .217 with 0 home runs and 12 RBI. Wambsganss played for the Cleveland Naps, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Wambsganss's best season was 1924, when he hit for a .275 average.
