Bill Troup (Paul William Troup) was born on April 2, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Bethel Park (PA), Troup attended the University of South Carolina and the University of Virginia. Troup made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Baltimore Colts and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Bill Troup's best year, as he tossed 10 TDs.
