Born on August 10, 1908 in Cisne, Illinois, Bill Trotter (William Felix Trotter) played for the St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career. Trotter broke into the bigs on April 23, 1937 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 5.81 ERA in 122.1 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Trotter's best season was 1940, when he posted a 3.77 ERA.
