Born on April 7, 1944 in Oak Park, Illinois, Bill Stoneman (William Hambly Stoneman) played for the Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos and California Angels over the course of his 8 year career. Stoneman broke into the bigs on July 16, 1967 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 3.29 ERA in 63 innings pitched in 1967, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Stoneman's best season was 1971, when he posted a 3.15 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 251 batters.
