Bill Stobbs (Thomas William Stobbs) was born on May 28, 1896 in Wheeling, West Virginia. After going to high school at Wheeling (WV), Stobbs attended Washington & Jefferson College. Stobbs made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Detroit Tigers. He played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 1 year career.
